When I was 11 years old....

I have an 11 year old son who has everything a kid, teenager and adult would ever want. He has his own computer, XBOX, Nintendo Wii, DVD player, 42" HD TV, his own cable box with DVR, iTouch, PSP, Nintendo DS, Logitech stereo and the iPad. Don't get me wrong, he is a great kid and he truly deserves everything he gets but DAMN that is a lot of really cool stuff...

Here are some things I wanted when I was 11 years old:

Whats 84, surounded by plastic, loves bunnies and just got engaged?

Hugh Hefner at 84, is now engaged to Crystal Harris, his 24-year-old girlfriend and Playboy Playmate.
Can you imagine what his monthly Viagra bill is like?
It will be the third marriage for famous bachelor Hefner. He wed first wife Mildred in 1949 (they have grown children Christie, 58, and David, 55) before divorcing in 1959. In 1989, he walked down the aisle with Playmate of the Year Kimberley Conrad, and they went on to have sons Marston, 10, and Cooper, 9. The duo's divorce was finalized last year.

THE BLACK MAMBA vs. KING JAMES

So, it wasn't much of a battle or even a game last night as the Heat pretty much dominated the entire game and cruised to beat our mighty Lakers 96 - 80. The Lakers biggest highlight were their limited edition Grinch colored kicks...

Both of these guys are amazing players and I hope to see them for years to come battling it out on the hardwood, similar to Magic vs. Bird and Jordan vs. Everyone else.

"The Black Mamba" - Even though Kobe is not the most likable guy in the world, he cheated on his wife with a below average chick, has arguably has the worst tattoo I have ever seen and did a completely douchey photo shot for LA Times magazine (White Hot) he is still unanimously the best player in the NBA.

"King James" - Even though Lebron pulled one of the worst PR stunts ever with his "I have decided to take my talents down to South Beach" mini series, his momma hooked up with one of his ex-teammates, and looks like a cross between Craig Mack & Ne-Yo, he is in my opinion the pound for pound best player in the NBA and my favorite player to watch.

I am really looking forward to these guys squaring off again in the playoffs....

HAPPY REVERSE DAY....

On Reverse day you don't sit on Santa's lap, Santa sits on yours....

MERRY CHRISTMAS....

After The Rain Exhibition @ Carmichael Gallery Culver City

If you are in town and have a chance to get down to Culver City you should stop by Carmichael Gallery and check out the After The Rain Exhibition, it looks like it's going to be really dope.
After The Rain, is a group exhibition featuring Boogie, Guy Denning, Aakash Nihalani and Pascual Sisto. After The Rain merges and contrasts the palettes of four artists who work in a range of media. The precise neon color sculptures and abstract mixed media canvases of Aakash Nihalani highlight the raw, candid nature of Boogie’s black and white photographs, while Guy Denning’s dark portraits, built with indulgent layers of oil paint, situate Pascual Sisto’s video and sculptural works in a new contextual light. There will be an opening reception for the exhibition on Saturday, January 8th from 6 to 8pm with Pascual Sisto in attendance. The exhibition will run through February 5th, 2011.

DON'T YOU HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO...

Two weeks ago, famous street artist Blu had a really dope mural at the MOCA in Los Angeles promptly covered up. The operation, quickly cover up the controversial art has caused an outcry amongst some prominent figures in the art & street art community.  The relationship of creativity, free speech and the corporation once again comes under fire as it has in the past and as it will continue to do so in the future.

Isn't this America? Come on we have Catholic Priest touching little kids, 8 city officials in Bell arrested for stealing 5.5 million dollars of one of the poorest city's money, and Mel Gibson still lose on the streets and your worried and some art on the side of a wall at the MOCA (Museum Of Contemporary Art) it is called contemporary art for a reason.
Just in case there is any confusion; Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, states that: Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship or limitation, or both.

LEAVE POOR LINDSAY ALONE

Dawn Holland, former Betty Ford Clinic employee and former drug addict originally accused Lindsay Lohan of ripping a phone from her hand which caused a severe sprained wrist. She has recently had a change of heart and now decided to drop the charges.

REALLY, little ol' 95lb Lindsay Lohan sprained your wrist, she couldn't sprain my 3 year olds wrist let alone some ex-drug addict from the streets who has at least 35-55 lbs on her.

Yes, she may be a little crazy at times and Yes, she has some addiction problems and Yes, her boobs seem to miraculous get really big then really small, but as they say "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and unfortunately Lindsay's tree is about as screwed up as they come.
Lindsay, if your reading this (your probably not) we loved you in Parent Trap and Herbie the Love Bug so hang in there and get better soon, were all pulling for you. If that doesn't work and if all else fails, just release a sex tape with wee-man from Jack-Ass that might work too, K bye. XoXo

Shes Baaccckkkk!

Lauren Hill is back and she is going on a small "intimate tour" of small venues. I must say that out of any artist Lauren Hill is one that I miss the most. Lets just hope she can remember all the words to her songs unlike her MTV Unplugged episode where she had to stop mid-way through some of her songs and read the lyrics off a piece of paper.

Unfortunately she will not be on the West Coast but here are her dates and venues below:

Talking Ish...

Today I was at Coffee Bean and I heard Facebook and Twitter talking about how ghetto Myspace is....true story.

WE SURVIVED A FAMILY ROAD TRIP....

My family and I just went on our first road trip this weekend.  Now for those of you that don’t know me I have 3 boys, 11, 3 and 16 months so you can imagine my fear with the idea of driving 7 hours with a 3 year old who thinks he's a super hero, a 16 month old who’s favorite sound to make is a cross between a loud screeching elephant and a 10 year old girl on a roller coaster and a 11 year old who finds it extremely amusing to fart, complain and do what ever he can to torment his 3 year old brother.
We decided to make the drive and even with all my fears the trip went surprisingly well. My wife and I didn’t kill each other, I only want to bash my head in once or twice, the kids had a great time and we were able to to spend some quality family time with my in-laws, sister’s and relatives.

Now, the drive is what I feared the most but our drive actually didn’t go that bad with the exception of; the baby crying for 5 hours there and back, the super hero making a super doo-doo in his underoos and me getting peed on by my 11 year old who was trying to relieve himself in a arrowhead bottle, from the 3rd row back seat.
Yes, that is pee on my shirt.

Now this may sound a little rough but it really wasn't that bad and once we got back home and had a chance to reflect on the trip it was very clear that these are those crazy, fun memories you will cherish and talk about forever.

So when you are considering taking a family road trip, don’t be scared away or intimidated by the horror stories and negative possibilities, the trip is what YOU make of it and it is truly an amazing experience for the parents and the kids have a great time.

I promise you that one day you will be sitting around talking about all the fun things you did and you will look back and say; “wow I can’t believe we were stupid enough to make that trip, but I am so glad that we did it”
